"Ex-Shure fanatic, Sennheiser Convert!"

Feature:
I'm giving this a 9 because I know that this is Sennheiser's lowest line wireless system. That said, this thing is awesome! Again, it just blows Shure right out of the water. I have an SM58, and it simply blows it away! Not only that, but you can switch the capsules inside the receiver... in other words, if you don't like the 835, you can put in a 845 super-cardioid or the 865 condenser, which is TOTALLY awesome! Not only that, but this is PROOF to me that Sennheiser makes THE best wireless system: my rehearsal space is a tiny little tin walled room. The metal frequently screws with cell transmissions, but I closed the door of the room and drove away. It went through the tin walls, around a huge tin walled empty garage, and through a whole bunch of giant trees... over 100 yards away before dropping out! NO EXAGERATION!

Quality:
It's a tank, just like these people are saying. Another thing where Sennheiser definitely has Shure beat, as far as wireless systems go... I checked out some of the lowere priced Shure systems, and they were made out of plastic! The felt like fragile little toys. Imagine the heft and metal feel of the SM58 in wireless form, but with the sound and clarity of a Beta 58 at a lower price, no less! Along with that, Sennheiser stuff all comes with a 10 year warantee, so that's all I need to know.

Value:
You WON'T find a better! If you want a QUALITY wireless mic system at a killer price, this (or any Sennheiser system) is most DEFINITELY what you want. I'm going to be using this mic for a LONG LONG time to come.

Desirability:
It's hefty. It's weighty. It looks sleek... it reminds me of... well, since I'm a geek, it reminds me of a lightsaber handle. :) It has definitely stepped away from that typical wireless mic look, I like how one guy put it, "a golf ball on a stick." It really is the sweetest mic, in my opinion. I want to customize it, just for my own personal twist, but man... if I didn't have it already, I'd buy it at twice the price. The thing just rocks.

Sound:
Wow... I just got this the other day, and I must say I am blown away! I'm giving it a nine because I haven't used a lot of top of the line equipment, and I'm pretty sure the only mic maker out there that could top this is Sennheiser itself. I thought that Shure was top of the line, but it looks like Sennheiser's taking this one away. The sound is GREAT! When Sennheiser says INTENSE output, they mean it. And it cuts through. Transparent, and strong. I have a lower-range baritone voice, and it keeps the warmth very nicely. Plus, the feedback rejection is pretty freakin' nice.

Support:
Never dealt with them, although their site is very informative. I'm going to base my rating off of the highly enlightening website.

Overall:
I would have given it an 8, but I just can't, because I love it so much. The only reason I give it a 9 is because I WILL get the 535 or 565 when the money becomes available, that is for sure. This mic, however, will stay with me forever. I'm only doing small gigs now, and being the singer, I'm the only one who needs a wireless mic, but perhaps later on I'll give it to my guitarist to use, or perhaps just save it for the great memories it has ALREADY given me! I LOVE THIS MIC!

"On Top Of It's Class"

Feature:
I love the construction and feel of the mic, nicely balanced and weighted (it feels like a microphone not a toy) Battery indicator is very helpful and the mic wont power up if you have a half-dead battery. Unfortunately the antennas are on the back so you need a kit with adapters to rackmount (not included) Accessories are sort of hard to find. I would prefer a XLR output but the sound from the 1/4 balanced out is excellent.

Quality:
All of the other wireless mics I tried were skimpy, mics and receivers were very lightweight and fragile. The Sennheiser mic and receiver is all metal and everything screws together firmly. Plus the battery mount is spring loaded so you dont have to worry about the battery coming loose when you leap off stage. Also the controls are all on the bottom and have a special disk to prevent accidentaly muting or turning the mic off.

Value:
I tried a bunch of wireless mics and wasn't pleased with most of them some more expensive, some less expensive. I wish I had just gone with the Sennheiser from the start. I think I have found my brand for all of our mics. & wireless.

Desirability:
The feel & shape of this mic is superb to all of the others out there. The all metal construction lets you know you are not using a piece of junk. Looks are good too, many other manufacturers cant get away from that "golf ball on a stick look"

Sound:
By far and long the best wireless vocal mic I have ever used or heard. The sound quality of this wireless is better than most of the wired mics I have used as well.

Overall:
I dont see a need for anything else right now. As the gigs pay more I am sure we will be adding more wireless to our systems. Guitar, Bass and maybe even in-ears. My call would be for all Sennheiser.
