"Pretty Good"

Feature:
There are few guitars that surpass the SG, with four control knobs, and a 3-way selector switch. As with every Epiphone that I have ever recieved, it comes with an amp cable.

Quality:
This guitar is made very well. All Epiphones are made very well, so this guitar is no exception. I think it will last ten years if you take care of it. For a serious player, the frets would wear down after more like five years, though. The worst thing that has ever happened to this guitar would be the amp jack coming a little loose, but you can just twist that tighter with your fingers, so there really have not been any problems. I think it would be good for use on the road.

Value:
If you like an SG, then this is a great value. It has everything that an SG should have, and it has a reasonable price tag.

Desirability:
Personally, I think it's not the best looking guitar out there. The finish on the one that I use is a deep worn red that allows the wood grain to show through, and that is a plus. It looks better than a lot of guitars, but not better than some. It looks decent, but the finish is amazing.

Sound:
Well, it has two humbuckers, it's an Epiphone, so the sound is going to be pretty much like a dual humbucker Epiphone. Of course, the body shape and materials let you get real nice hard rock sounds, but you can also turn it down and get some mellow clean tones.

Ease of Use:
Guitars aren't that hard to use. This one could have been slightly more playable, because the neck is in a way so that some people might find it a little bit wide, but it's certainly playable and really easy to get good sounds from this guitar.

Support:
I have never needed to use it, and I don't think I ever will, because these guitars are made so well. I have heard, though, that they are really good so I'm giving them a ten.

Overall:
I think that I will be satisfied with this guitar for years to come. It has a good finish, which will only continue looking good even if it looks worn, although it comes worn anyway. I don't perticularly need this guitar over the other guitars that I have, but it's a nice gem in the collection.

"still my favorite guitar"

Feature:
came with just a poster that i have on my wall. the brown finish is really great. better than glossy finsih of course cause you dont get all the scratches and fingerprints.

Quality:
this guitar is made really good. ive dropper the thing dzens of times and it doesnt hurt it. the only problem ive had is all 4 of the knobs got real loose but its no big deal. its definately a well built guitar.

Value:
yes its definately worth it.

Desirability:
its a really good looking guitar nothing more nothing less.

Sound:
it sounds amazing!!!if you want to sound like angus young fo ac/dc this is you guitar. also it has good clean tones and even real good blues tones.

Ease of Use:
its so easy just to get a great sound. you can pretty much get any sound that you want. its a very flexible guitar for any kind of music. it is very playable but right out of the box just tune up and lower the action and you ready to go.

Support:
no problems

Overall:
i will be satisfied forever with this guitar. but i will soon upgrade to gibson sg's but will soon replace it with 2 gibson sg standards. it has helped me to learn guitar really nicely. i love it and cherish it so much im hopefully gonna buy a display case for it cause i love it so.

Epiphone G400 Vintage Electric Guitar
Here's the Vintage guitar you're not afraid to play every day! Epiphone's SG-shaped Vintage G-400 has the well-worn look and feel of a favorite guitar. It's Worn finish showcases the wood grain (similar to Gibson's popular Faded series). The Vintage Series' well-traveled look has another advantage when it comes to maintenance: The satin finish and 'aged' inlays on the fingerboard require less cosmetic care than guitars with a glossy finish and new-looking inlays. The G-400 has a one-piece neck with super satin finish, humbucker pickups, chrome hardware and tune-o-matic bridge.

About Epiphone
Epiphone's passion has always been about more than just making guitars. It has been about making music. It has been about understanding what is inside every musican that makes them want to, have to, express themselves. And understanding the myriad musical styles, where they are going and how they might develop. For over one hundred and twenty-five years they have continually looked for new and better ways to help players take their music farther.

Epi Stathopoulo, their founder and namesake, was always on the forefront of music. He was the first instrument maker to embrace Jazz music and led the industry away from mandolin and banjo production and into making guitars. At the age of twenty-four Epi obtained his first of many patents that would change fretted instrument construction forever. The extension truss rod design, the first pick-up with individual pole pieces, and the Tonexpressor - the precursor to the modern day 'wah-wah' pedal - were all epiphone innovations. But perhaps the greatest contribution to guitar making came in 1941 while Les Paul was experimenting in the Epiphone factory. These experiments led to the Les Paul 'Log' and the first solid-body electric guitar.

Epi's vision of the future of music and guitar, as well as the importance of his work could be seen by, and in, those who chose to play an Epiphone. Musicians who themselves were visionaries. George Van Epps, Harry Volpe, Howard Roberts, Joe Pass and other Jazz players would make music history with an Epiphone guitar, as would Blues legend, John Lee Hooker. And the Beatles, who recorded Paperback Writer, Ticket to Ride, and the most recorded song ever written, Yesterday, with Epiphone guitars they purchased in 1964. It is an incredible legacy that continues today with Noel Gallagher, Lenny Kravitz and other artists who choose to make their music with an Epiphone

The same sprit of innovation that drove the Stathopoulos to start pushing the boundaries of guitar design over one hundred and twenty-five years ago is alive and well at Epiphone today. Styles of music will continue to evolve, new technologies will come and go and new players will continue to take music and guitar in new directions. But their passion for making music and their mission of providing musicians with a great instrument they can rely on to express themselves will always remain constant.
