"The truly great V-ampire"

Feature:
It is absolutely necessary to have the midi controller to access presets in live situations. The wah filter characteristics are too wide & make a bad wah sound. The volume pedal is great to control dynamics. I wish there was a 2x12 version of this thing. I can't for the life of me figure why Behringer did not do this. I want a portable, (read no 4x12 cab) setup. It could use just a bit more coverage power & 2x12 speakers to be perfection.

Quality:
I have been gigging this amp for 4 years running it at 2/3 to 3/4 volume. The only problem was a cmos battery that went dead (lost all the settings) It has been bulletproof, but i take care of it. The pots, (more accurately "encoders") have plastic shafts & will easily break so i built a 1/8" plywood cover. problem solved. It still looks & works like new.

Value:
Compared to the competition this was a no brainer. In all fairness I'm using the competitions modeling guitar, but for the amp I think It is the best value presently. The amp & controller are priced much less than the competition.

Desirability:
It looks nice, but i wish they would take the "ear" off their logo. Playing a Marshall is like driving a corvette, but then playing this V-Ampire sounds way more like the cover material we are trying to create. Forget about status symbols & be concerned with the way it sounds. This is so well done I believe all the amp companies will have an offering similar to it in short order. It is the future..now.

Sound:
The V-ampire is an Excellent value. I have used it gigging for the last 4 years. It takes a LONG time to get this thing where it is at, but it is worth it. Some of what I have learned, Run it in L2, turn off the cab models. The software to set it up is a must. Within the software it is easy to manipulate the drive,noise gate etc. which is almost impossible without it. Almost any sound can be emulated. It is powerful on its own. Last gig, the other guitarist told me I was too loud. He plays a tsl 100 & the bassist uses an SVT. The clean sounds are weaker than the overdriven ones but can be suppliented with the compressor. If the job is larger than about 200 people it needs to be miced. I do not like the way the direct outs sound live through the PA.although they are not bad for recording.

Ease of Use:
This is a digital modeling amp & the learning curve was long, but if one cares to take the time by reading the manual a few times, go to user groups and spend a lot of time with it, it will be worth the effort. I have about 8 amps that are heavy, one trick ponies that require all kinds of outboard stuff to get a palate of tones. This is one 48 Lb self contained unit that does it all. At $250 I dont know how they do it.

Support:
I needed a firmware update for the foot controller FCB1010 to make it work properly. Behringer was friendly & fast with a new chip & it has worked flawlessly since. How often does that happen any more.

Overall:
I cant find anything else quite like it for the $..... I keep looking at the website for the 2x12 150 watt version of this. If it disappeared, I would buy another immediately. If they could put a bit more volume in the clean models it would be welcome.

Feature:
Each bank has 5 pre-sets available, and you can create your own amp and sound for each amp in each bank and the foot pedal will allow you to move from one pre-set to another within each bank of amp selections. If this amp had the FX effects that are in the GMX amps it would be even more KILLER! The onboard effects are not that good, but not that bad; you have to spend the time to tweak each amp and effect selected.

Quality:
This is the second Behringer I have owned. I found a few loose screws on the outside of this amp. The plastic knobs stand out farther than the ones did on the GMX210 I previously owned,so one would need to be careful when moving this thing around, but most people I know who have invested in an amp treat them like a lady.

Value:
For the money, you will not find an amp anywhere near this one for the same money.

Desirability:
This is a really cool looking amp, all those red LEDs glowing against all that black. Really cool.

Sound:
The sounds this amp is able to produce unbelieveable. With 32 amp choices it is impossible not to find the sound you want. The VOX sound requires a lot of tweaking. If you do not take the time to read the instructions several times and mark the places for easy reference that pretain to various aspects of configuring each amp you only make it harder to do.

Ease of Use:
If you want to get a good sound from this amp you are going to have to read the instructions and actually spend the time required to tweak each of the setting associated with each amp you select in a bank. I X-ed out everything in the instruction manuel that did not pretain to the LX112 so I did not waste time while reading and adjusting my amp selection. I have tweaked and re-tweaked the 95 amp selections several times so that I have exactly what I want. Another important thing; I created a document in word processor making five cap "O"s across the page and then copied it all the way down the page in banks of 5; and then I printed it out and used it to draw in each amp selection and the exact setting for Gain, Vol, Bass, Mid, Treble, and then at the end I put what effect I chose and the setting of each of them. This way I know exactly what each bank contains, and exactly what each setting is.

Support:
I have had no trouble at all in communicating with Behringer. If I run into a tech problem I send them an email and they answer my question within 3 days. You actually create your own identity with Behringer and you go to their website to view all emails you may have sent them and their response to each of them. My GMX210 developed a bad rumble inside the cabinet about a year after I first purchased it at Zzounds; I sent off an email to Behringer informing them of the situation. After a couple of exchanges they refered me to their Replacement Warranty Dept and I packed it up and sent it off. It took longer to ship my new amp than usual because of the end of the year inventory, so I got a phone call from someone in the RW office and they offered me an up-grade, so after looking at what was available I chose the LX112.

Overall:
I have everything I need right here. It would be nice if it had the 99 FX effects that the GMX V-Tone products have, but good grief, with 32 amps and the ability to set the Gain, the Drive, the Presence, the Volumn, the Bass, the Mid, and the Treble on each amp, I am fully satisfied with what I have. If you do not take the time to tweak each amp, and make a chart of each setting for each amp, and what amp is in each bank you will make a lot more work for yourself
