What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Grand Auditorium body shape Full bass and articulate highs; great for singers
Ovangkol back and sides Wide and full midrange; smooth lows and highs
Sitka spruce top Projects rich, crisp and responsive tone
Ebony fretboard Dark color, tight grain; premium fretboard wood

Classic appointments and world-class tone make the Taylor 414 acoustic guitar ideal accompaniment for any situation. With warm lows, balanced mids and highs, and that certain zing that is all ovangkol, these guitars are ideally suited for fingerstyle playing or medium strumming.

Sitka Spruce Top; Ovangkol Back and Sides

A key combination of tonewoods creates the Taylor 414's unique voice. The quick, articulate response of Sitka spruce is combined with the warmth and sparkle of ovangkol, giving the 400 Series a tone reminiscent of rosewood, yet uniquely its own.

Grand Auditorium: Taylor's Most Popular Body Shape

The Grand Auditorium combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming.

Fit & Finish

The finish used to create this guitar's textured satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.
